Patty and Bertie,
After seven weeks of being savaged by grasshoppers and
many other biting insects I'm leaving. Mangled, but
happy. I have learnt many life skills including :
- learning how to prune tomatoes
- rendering walls
- how to make jam
- how to get garlic into every single dish in large quantities
- how to clean a swimming pool
- how to drink my body weight in rosé
- how to combine cabbage with jam
All of which I am sure that I will regularly use during my
adult life. But, the serious business of learning aside, I
have got so much out of staying here with you both, more
than you or I even realise.
Patricia, you have been so much more than just my host,
you have been a real friend and that's worth its weight in
gold.
Bert, how could I forget such classic compliments as
"you're so fucked up" ? I was only wearing a bit of
eyeshadow ! No need to go overboard !
Every day has been it's own little adventure and I will
never forget the random kitten rescue, but I'm so glad they
came because they are little bundles of joy ! Awwww ! But
I love all your animals. They have provided me with fun
and laughs and love while I have been here.
It will be strange not sitting on the sofa every night
drinking wine and trying to stay awake to watch BB. I
can't immagine what home is going to feel like because I've
been so at home here ! But I guess that means ro say that
I'll be back !
Thanks a million & lots of love. I will miss you loads.

PS.  I also learnt that I really do say "crickey"
PPS. Did you know that Finian's  tail is broken at the
end ? I think he is a Siamese twin.
Patricia, Bert, Kerrel, and kitties (+ future chickens !)
I can't think of a better place to have had my very first wwoofing
experience ... Thank you so much fo opening your house and your lives
to us. You have such a great thing going here. I won't forget our drives
through the countryside, watering the garden,
the chicken coop, our
quarters, the kitties, running with Kerrel, Brittish soaps, elderflower
champagne, the wonderful food and especially you two !!
It's hard to say where the wind (Mistral) will blow us next, but maybe
some day I will return to see the chickens + your polly tunel (and
whatever else comes about between now + then)
Until then, keep in touch and thanks again for everything .... you are
truly inspirational !

Here's a toast of the finest non-alcoholic beve
to the one and only B&P
Because we arrived on two tires
and are no leaving with three.

What were we to think at first.
Seven cats, three dogs, the Belgian two,
will we help somehow, earn our keep,
"Oh, what are we to do ?"

So we pulled tomatoes, made a path,
sewed, painted and stained,
dug a garden, made a really thick soup
and finally felt trained.

But even so, it's an unfair trade
we got the most out of this place
We dined like Kings, cuddled & snuggled
and saw beautiful things

Every day the dogs walked us
and to the cows we tipped our hats,
Feline faces prowled and purred
while we ate and ate and got fat.

We laughed with Patricia and teased with Bert
had fun in the market and home
You've made us so welcome, are genuine & kind
and in so many ways we've grown

So here's a toast of the finest coke
to the one and only B&P
If the seven year itch does call to you
come live near us by the sea.
